Curt's Corner is a

Alexander:
I wanted to see this epic on the big screen because I figured it was befitting
for the battle scenes. And, I'm glad I did, because the battle scenes were
pretty cool. This film also provides a nice little history lesson (and for some
of us a history refresher) even though director Oliver Stone did employ some
theatrical latitude. I thought the actors did an adequate job, and I see
possible Oscar nominations for set direction, costume design and cinematography.
This movie wasn't a blockbuster, but was pretty decent. I give it 2
½ bones out if four and recommend you see it in the movie theater.

The Terminal:
This film stars Tom Hanks and was directed by Steven Spielberg, so the chances
of it being good are high. I was surprised to see that it was actually a bit of
a chick flick, but as it turns out I liked how the story was concluded. I
laughed several times throughout but I'm still glad I waited for it to come out
in the rental store. I thought Tom Hanks did a very good job portraying his
character, which very much carries this film. I give it 2 ½ bones.
The Stepford Wives:
This is a remake of the original that debuted in the 70's, of which I never saw.
It includes several big names (veteran actors) and it even made me laugh a few
times. But, overall this was a
Spartan:
This came out earlier this year and stars Val Kilmer as "Black Ops"
kind of guy who's out on a mission. I really appreciate the straight forwardness
and quick pace at which the story and dialog was written. They always cut right
to the chase and didn't draw situations out like most action dramas. I give this
movie 2 ½ bones. Rent it when
there's nothing better to get, and you'll probably say to yourself, "that
was different."
Kill Bill, Vol. 2:
Most people either liked the first Kill Bill, or hated it. Keeping in mind that
it's actually a satire, I liked the first one. And if you did too, then you'll
really like volume #2. Writer/producer/director Quentin Tarantino displayed his
usual cheesy script in a humorous and yet, intriguing style. And yes, I can see
how there may be a volume #3. I hope there is, and then I'll rent it too. Don't
bother with the big screen, unless you're struggling for something to see. 2
½ bones for uniqueness and coolness.
Walking Tall:
This is a remake of a film with the same name that came out in the early 70's.
Really, this movie wasn't anything special and pretty much just serves as a
career builder for leading man The Rock. As The Rock continues to parallel
Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie career he will no doubt have to star in several
roles like this one for a few years. And this role was perfect for him and his
PR development. I suspect he'll be running around with a gun and a badge pretty
soon in
