Five Mile Lookout

Journal entry Monday February, 12 2006.  Down at the bottom of the hill we find the spring partially uncovered in the snow.  Nearby is a pretty nice stock camp for when the weather is better.

What appears to be a road peters out but we bushwhack back to our own tracks in a few yards.  We loop back around to the road we came in on.

Slogging it back up the hill.

On the way to the tower we're treated to a view of Mount Adams in the north.  To the left is Mount Saint Helens.

Back in the tower the sunset adds a warm glow to that Mount Adams view.  Saint Helens still is obscure.

In the west Mount Hood's fatal eastern face remains obscured however.  An average weather day where we were in the shadow of Mount Hood can mean something else entirely up there.
